The members of Odd
Dog met inside a dragon costume at a Chinese New Years parade in San Francisco in 1973. They spent several years
writing pet food jingles before being discovered by the ringmaster of a travelling circus, who recruited them as singing clowns,
taught them to juggle, and bought them large shoes.
They left the big top a year later and travelled abroad, taking temporary work as food tasters for a
middle eastern dictator. While there, they recorded their first record, "Awful Falafel," which soared to #14 in
Yemen.
Their meteoric rise to mediocrity
earned them tens and tens of dollars and a small but loyal cult following of vegan jihadists.
With newfound confidence, they returned to the
states and headed to Nashville. Unfortunately, once there they fell in with the wrong crowd and became hooked on "twang."
They checked themselves into Billy Bob's Grand Old halfway house and entered a two-step program. After four weeks of supervised
line dance and intensive yodeling, they are now completely clean and occasionally sober ...
